We are hiring for the role: Director of Antibody Expression and Engineering & Protein Analytics Department in the Austrian subsidiary in Vienna (Campus Vienna Biocenter). Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, the person will be responsible for the scientific work of the Department and also line manager of 3 group leaders. The position is ideally suited for a senior scientist with experience in discovery, optimization, expression and characterization of monoclonal antibodies, preferentially also in a biotech/pharma environment. The position requires good managerial and communication skills. Area of expertise in the department to lead:

• Protein biochemistry, analytics
• Cloning, expression and purification of monoclonal antibodies in mammalian cells
• Quality control of mAbs for preclinical testing
• Glycoprofiling of antibodies
• Antibody characterization (affinity, solubility, stability)
• Cloning and expression of recombinant proteins in E. coli

Required qualifications and skills:

• PhD or equivalent (MD, etc)
• > 5 years of experience and track record in mAb discovery, purification and characterization
• Preferentially: experience in mAb- or biologics-based product development and manufacturing in biotech or pharma environment
• Good academic record is a definite plus
• Experience in people management
• Good English language skills
