Atomic Force F&E GmbH, the European distributor for Asylum Research, technology leader in scanning probe/atomic force microscopy, is seeking a Sales Engineer to support and drive its growing sales activities in Europe.

Are you a good engineer or scientist? Do you like high technology, but also meeting people, talking, networking? Why not become our new sales engineer! Scanning Probe/Atomic Force Microscopy is our business and we offer the best instruments in the industry. Our customers are looking for the optimum instrument for their application - and you can be the one to help them find it. We don't talk people into a purchasing decision, we convince them with superior products and technical support in the business. Long term customer relationships are our goal. You will get to travel a lot around Europe, meeting new people at conferences or at their institutes or labs. You will welcome potential customers to equipment demonstrations in our offices in Mannheim, Germany, or to our in-house training workshops. You will meet them again as our customers at the Euro AFM Forum and have a beer with them. At Atomic Force, you will be part of a sales team with technical knowledge backup provid ed by our experienced applications scientists who will help to make you successful in your job!

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include building long-term contacts with new and existing customers, organizing instrument workshops and roadshows, actively identifying potential customers and assisting them throughout their path of decisions for new AFM instrumentation, as well as supporting marketing activities in new and existing markets. The position also requires presentations at workshops and customer demonstrations.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a solid academic background and a minimum of 5 years experience in technical sales, preferably in the field of scientific instrumentation. The candidate must be a fast, self-learner and have excellent networking and communications skills, both written and oral, and must be able to understand customer needs, gain customer feedback and develop customer relation ships based on mutual trust. Asylum Research microscope experience and sales experience in high grade scientific instrumentation are a bonus. Fluent German and English oral/written skills are required. The position will be based in Mannheim, Germany and will require frequent travel throughout Europe.

Atomic Force F&E GmbH, the European distributor for Asylum Research, technology leader in scanning probe/atomic force microscopy, is seeking a young, dynamic and highly motivated Sales Assistant in its Mannheim, Germany office.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities as a member of the sales team include assisting the sales engineers and management in their daily work, e.g. in organizing meetings and travel activities, follow-ups with customers, generating price quotations and updating the data base. The introduction of a new CRM system will be part of your work as well as being responsible for financial reports to the Managing Directors. As our sales assistant, you will make sure all our potential customers requesting information get what they need. You will determine their needs and schedule visits by our sales and applications staff. You will be the anchor in our team of mobile sales people, but at times you will be needed on site for a conference or work shop.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a background in business administration or equivalent and adequate computer skills as well as a talent for organization. The candidate must be a fast, self-learner and have excellent communications skills, both written and oral, and must be able to understand customer needs, gain customer feedback and relay this information to the sales and applications team. Experience in sales back offices and meeting organization a bonus. Fluent German and English oral/written skills are required.
