Material scientists from Bremen (Germany) and Stanford have identified nanodiamonds as potent bactericidal agents. The bactericidal effect of the nanodiamonds is likely caused by acid anhydride groups on their surface. The discovery opens a multitude of possible applications in medicine, among others. Read more
