Education task
The candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the teaching activities within the Bachelor program Physics and within the internationally oriented, interdisciplinary Master program on ‘Bioelectronics and Nanotechnology’.

Research mission
The candidate will carry out experimental research in the field of bioelectronics/biosensors with special focus on the design and implementation of new concepts for advanced biosensor applications, starting from fundamental physical and chemical principles. As head of the biosensor group, he/she will take responsibility to further develop existing research lines, together with other imo-imomec groups, towards new design concepts in biosensing.

Profile

Good relational, communicative and reporting skills
Good knowledge of English
The candidate has a proven experimental background in bioelectronics/biosensor research. A strong theoretical and/or materials background will be considered a plus.
The candidate has proven experience in successful project acquisition in the research domain.
Dutch is the administrative and teaching language within our university. If your knowledge of Dutch is insufficient at the moment of your recruitment, we will provide the necessary training to allow you to pass a language test after 3 years.

Diploma
Doctoral degree in sciences (physics, chemistry) or applied sciences (or equivalent).

Employment
A permanent appointment after a trial period of 3 years.
