Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in technological research at the University of Franche-Comté with a knowledge of one of the other specialities of Labex ACTION dedicated to smart systems.

Chair of Excellence in the Framework of the LABEX ACTION
Design, study and fabrication of "smart systems" embedded in physical structures

Smart Systems are expected to take more and more importance. They will provide new technologies in many fields (telecommunications, transportation, buildings, energy, health, computers, and so on). The aim of the Labex ACTION program is to design smart systems based on the structuring of matter at the microscale, in order to create new integrated functionalities and new information processing capabilities. It will result in devices that can notably be embedded into systems or structures. The University of Franche-Comté (UFC, Besançon, France) is a core partner of the Labex ACTION, through the FEMTO-ST Research Institute.

In this framework, UFC opens a tenure-track position for:
(i) Research dedicated to micro/nanotechnologies for "Smart Systems",
(ii) Teaching in dedicated Masters of Engineering,
(iii) Development of international partnerships.
For this last mission, the hired person will be involved in the implementation of the International Collegium "SMYLE" project in partnership with EPFL (Switzerland), which is connected to the Labex ACTION activities. He/she will be a member of the FEMTO-ST Institute, which is the leader of the Labex ACTION, and which provides a high level scientific environment to develop research activities in this field. Speaking French is not required.
