This is a kind reminder that we are inviting abstracts for MNF2104; the abstract deadline has now been extended to 29 November 2013.

Abstract submission-guidelines: Abstracts should not exceed 1 page in length and should be prepared according to the MS Word template provided on the conference web site. All abstracts must be submitted as a single PDF through our online paper submission system. You will be required to create an account in order to submit your abstract.

Conference Themes & Special Sessions: MNF2014 will focus on the thermal and fluid aspects of micro and nano flows, encompassing both thermofluids engineering and biomedical fluid mechanics. Two special sessions are planned within the conference:

1.    a special session on New Ultrafine Optical Measurement Methods (commissioned by Prof Collins, Brunel), these being applicable to both conventional and biomedical engineering, sponsored by ASME Press of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

2.    a mini symposium on Mathematical modelling of multiphase microscale flows (commissioned by Prof Papageorgiou, Imperial College)

Publications: Accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper. Selected papers will be published in one of the following four journals: Applied Thermal Engineering, Medical Engineering and Physics, Heat Transfer Engineering and International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow. In addition, extended papers from the special session on ultrafine measurement will be submitted for the ASME BioNano Monograph Series.

Keynote speakers: Prof J. Thome (EPFL) on multiphase flows, Prof Gerhard Gompper on biomedical flows, Prof D. Sinton (Toronto) on microfluidics for energy applications, Prof D.  Drikakis (Cranfield) on computational advances, Prof J. Reese (Edinburgh) on Hybrid Molecular/Continuum Methods and Prof E. Rebrov (Queen’s, Belfast).

Please visit the conference website http://www.mnf2014.com for regular updates and also pass this call for abstracts to your colleagues and collaborators who might wish to attend.

We look forward to receiving your abstracts,

Best wishes,

Dr. Stavroula Balabani and Prof. Panagiota Angeli
