The Center for Biochips and Nanotechnology in Translational Medicine, School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China warmly invites applications for 3 junior faculty positions. These 3 faculty positions are all on the tenure-track system, with the starting package specially designed to attract young scholars with great research potentials.

The Center for Biochips and Nanotechnology in Translational Medicine focuses on the biomedical applications of Microsystems, semi- conductor chips, micro fluidics and nanotechnologies, in particular, on imaging, sensing and regulating cellular processes critical to development and diseases.

The Center for Biochips and Nanotechnology in Translational Medicine is part of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).The mission of the school is to promote the accomplishment of the major missions of the nation and to meet the demands of clinical medicine.(http://bme.sjtu.edu.cn/en/index.asp). SJTU boasts a large group of world-leading scientists and professors, including 35 academic of the Academy of Sciences and Academy of Engineering, 95 chair professors and the national "Cheung Kong Scholars Program" endowed professors, among more than 2,000 professors and associate professors on active duty.

Faculty position 1
We welcome applications from individuals with a background in engineering, including and not limited to mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or material engineering and sciences. Applicants must have a PhD degree. We expect the successful candidate to have relevant prior experience in:

  • Biomedical micro systems technology and Nano materials
  • Bio-chip design, cell analysis, extraction and quantitative analysis of sub-cellular materials, such as single cell level profiling and genetic analyses
  • Clean room manufacturing, and/or nanofabrication process experience.

Faculty position2
We welcome applications from individuals with a background in advanced instrumentation integrating mechanics, electronic, physics, or new materials. Applicants must have a PhD degree. We expect the successful candidate to have relevant experience in:

  • Medical system design, test and translational applications in clinical or pre-clinical setting
  • Advanced biomedical electronics and miniature instrumentation design; hardware and software system integration for clinical applications
  • International standards for medical electronics, medical equipment and process development

Faculty position3
We welcome applications from individuals with a background in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and immunology. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD degree. We expect the successful candidate to have related translational experience in cancer diagnoses and personal therapy.
