Graphene may enable the ultimate water desalination device

MIT scientists have shown (in simulations) that nanoporous graphene can filter salt from water at a rate that is 2-3 orders of magnitude faster than today’s best commercial desalination technology, reverse osmosis (RO). This could lead to more efficient and smaller water desalination facilities.

The graphene is used as a membrane material that allows a flow of water with full salt refection via size exclusion. Other materials have been investigated for the same purpose, but the…

Basque scientists control light at a nanometric scale with graphene

Basque research groups are part of the scientific team which has, for the first time, trapped and confined light in graphene, an achievement which constitutes the most promising candidacy to process optic information at nanometric scales and which could open the door to a new generation of nano-sensors with applications in medicine, energy and computing.…

Welcome - about us

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!

Nanopaprika is always looking for new partners, if you have any idea, contact me at editor@nanopaprika.eu
