Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!

Dr. András Paszternák, founder of Nanopaprika

Profile Information

I am...
Biologist
My research field or area of interest innanotechnology
I did my PhD in Neuroscience title “Neuroprotective Effects against ethanol induced modulation of siRNA-Mediated GABAB1 Receptor and apoptotic neurodegeneration in developing rat brain” and my research project was based on downstream signaling and role of GABAB1R upon acute and chronic ethanol effect of maternal epileptic seizure on apoptotic neuronal death, modulation of GABAB1R, and its effect on further downstream signaling like protein kinase A-α (PKA) and p-CREB expression in prenatal and developing rat brain upon transfected and non transfected condition, where, GABAB1R was knocked down using GABAB1RsiRNA and using different molecular and behavioural techniques such as Western blot, PCR, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Confocal microscopy, Transmission electron microscope, Development of different types of normal and cancer cell lines, and primary neuronal cell culturing, MTT assay, Fluoro Jade-B, Propidium Iodide staining for identification of apoptotic and necrotic cell, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Electron microscopy, Flow cytometer analysis (Becton Dickinson, San Jose, CA, USA), ATP and PKA detection assay, Electroencephalography (EEG) by using Laxtha EEG-monitoring device. Presently I am working on neuroprotective effect of some natural compound against epileptic seizure and other neurodegenerative disease due to exposure of alcohol during early development of fetal brain.
Interest in...
Use of Nano particles as a neuroprotective agents against ethanol induced apoptotic neurodegneration in developing rat barin.
Use of Nano particles as a durg delevery models of rat brain against differents insults.
