Cancer and nanotechnology

Hi Olga and colleagues - Yes, cancer is a serious problem.  I assume for discussing it here you like to relate it to nanotechnology.  On this subject I just read a paper on "A Comparative Study of Two Folate-Conjugated Gold Nanoparticles for Cancer Nanotechnology Applications"  which appeared in CANCERS Journal which is an "OPEN ACCESS"journal.  The website for the articles is: Cancers 2010, 2(4), 1911-1928;…See More

Antonietta Gatti commented on Asher Cron's blog post Nanotechnology to cure cancer
"I did not enjoied the article because there is a serious problem with these new technologies. After the targetting the Gold nanopartciles do not disappear. They do not degrade , corrode or other. They are considered foreign bodies by the body and…"

Asher Cron replied to Vishnu Kiran M's discussion How do we find out the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles
"Hi Vishnu - The most environmental friendly and the best route to large-scale production of silver nanoparticles is reported in this patent: www.faqs.org/patents/app/20100055199 Ideal for capital veturists!"

Asher Cron replied to masoud robati's discussion application of polymer nano-composites in asphalt
"Asphalt as is used for payvment of roads is not an "emulsion". It is a shapeless, stucturless, gummy mixture of a polydisperse molecule named "aspahtene" which is mixed with petroleum resins, heavy hydrocarbons and adsorned to it…"

Nanotechnology to cure cancer

Friends,The open access journal named "Cancer" just published a special issue on "Nanotechnology to cure cancer". I enjoyed reading this article:http://www.mdpi.com/2072-6694/2/4/1911/on design of a special nanoconjugate for cancer nanotechnology applications. They are quite advanced in this field.Check it out!AsherSee More

Where is the beef?

Frankly people use any title for their book, meanigful or not, to say they have answers to every thing under the sun. I just saw your listing of the so called "PRINCIPLES OF NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY" by Shah and Ahmad and when I look at the list there was no principles presented, but a bunch of non-nano and none stuff listed like "Electron Microscopy / X-ray Crystallography /,Spectroscopy Techniques". May be some one should tell the authors "shame on you where is the beef?".See More

Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
