I am working on my course project titled " Laser induced assembly of gold nano particles into colloidal crystals". We are synthesising gold nano particles by nanopulsed laser(Nd-YAG second harmonic) ablation. How Laser parameters - wavelength, pulse width, fluence, repetition rate, scanning time affects the size and efficiency of the nanoparticles and which are the values for these factors to get maximum efficiency? we need to get nanoparticles have an average size less than 20nm.please help me.

Sure, This method is very interesting and contains a lot of unique characteristics, and you will enjoy and learn a lot of physics.

I hope all of the members in this group start to discus with us this wonderful phenomena.

Yes, Ayman. The mechanism and new phenomena, the modification of this method are interesting topics, and need to be studied.

But, as a method, how to attract long-term attention? I think the works in this field should demonstrate the advantages and unique characteritics of this method, compared with other methods.

Otherwise, as a very small research direction, it will gradually disappear!

Too Great Haibo, i think we can start to discuss; the mechanism of this process, the physical meaning around pressure and temperature, the adjustment of ablation in/up/down the surface of the target by a lot of methods like knife edge method, etc.

Yes, LAL is a very interesting field. If someone can cite my related papers, i will be very glad, such as Composition/Structural Evolution and Optical Properties of ZnO/Zn Nanoparticles by Laser Ablation in Liquid Media, J. Phys. Chem. B 2005, 109, 18260-18266. (Cited 121) and Blue luminescence of ZnO Nanoparticles Based on Nonequilibrium Process: Defect Origins and Emission Controls, Adv. Funct. Mater. 2010, 20. 561-572. (Cited 48)

It is my pleasure to discuss some issues about LAL. What's the main problems in this field in your mind? Let's start from this topic.

Hi Subhash Singh, I'd like this field too much and i'm in my way in M.Sc in synthesis of CdS, CdSe in liquid environment. so, may u help me about how to increase the hardness of the tablet to be able to resist the laser matter interaction more time?

Hi, I have done my Ph.D. work on laser ablation in liquid media. I have worked on zinc, Cd, Ti, and Se for the synthesis of Zn, ZnO, Zn(OH)2, CdO, Cd(OH)2, TiO2 and Se nanoparticles and nanostructures. I am editing a Wiley book entitled "Nanomaterials: Processing and Characterization with lasers" which contents almost all the laser based approaches for the synthesis of nanostructured materials. I am also working as guest editor for the special issue of science of advanced materials on "Laser processing of nanomaterials". All of you, working on laser ablation in liquid media for the synthesis of nanoparticles, are invited to submit you papers in this special issue of SAM.

The research interest in generation of NPs by Laser ablation in liquid is increasing, from noble to transitional metals. This technique has got so much attention these days, that there gonna be a separate conference dealing with this technique only, I hope most of us know about it already, if not check out the following link:

Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
