What is CIGS???
CIGS stands for Cu(In,Ga)Se2 which is absorber layer and CdS can be used as buffer layer in this solar cell. The cost effective technique for the preparation and to avoid toxic selenization step are the biggest challenge in this field. The efficiency of this solar cell is 19.9 % recently (Feb 2008) reported by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA). CIGS is promising candidate to replace Silicon solar cells.
thanks, sanjay...
I have been anxiously monitoring the development of CIGS solar. Once we solve the toxic selenization problem, i rather think the market will help drive the cost efficiecency issue into submission sooner rather than later.

Welcome

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!
