In what context do you use azobenzene?
I use azobenzene based surfactants to make Self Assembled Monolayers on gold. I have experience in both the sysnthesis of these surfactants and there application to SAMs.

I am making single-molecule photoswitches of azobenzenes. Since they can change conformation with light and trans is nearly 100 times more conducting compared to cis, it is very good candidate for future single-molecule opto-electronics devices.
