photochromism effect in transparent polymer film

Is is possible to prepare transparent polymer film instead of glass by using photochromism effect... if it is possible means what type of substrate used for preparing polymer thin film...

There are many polymer/organic compound that show photochromic behavior, but there is still great obstacle that limit their commercialization. The major problem of this materials is their contrast. To study more about these polymer start with Spiropyran-based photochromics which studied in nanoscale and showed enhanced property recently.

Sir, I am doing project in photochromism, I have one doubt sir it is possible to get photochromism by adding silver nanoparticles/silver halide nanoparticles in pmma film.. can you please give suggestion sir... it will more useful for my project sir..
