Event Description

Storage rings and similar devices are becoming increasingly popular tools for the study of isolated, mass selected gas phase systems of any size and the school will provide examples of both technical aspects of these devices and the application of them in the study of systems from single atoms to large biological molecules.

The school is intended for graduate students, postdocs and interested scientists in general. It will be a short course in the use of storage devices for the study of atoms, molecules, clusters and biomolecules. The emphasis is on electrostatic devices for charged particles but also neutral particle storage, Penning traps, synchrotron rings will be included. The school is free but registration is required.
