DESCRIPTION:\n\nFor the second year, the University Ca' Foscari of Ven
 ice (Italy), in collaboration with IOM (UK), Karolinska Istitutet (Swe
 den) and Edinburgh Napier Univeristy (UK) proposes a five-day-school f
 or Ph.D. students, researchers and industrial personnel dealing with n
 anotechnologies.\n\nThe school is planned to give a complete and advan
 ced overview of the actual knowledge and gaps on nanosciences, startin
 g from material characterization (available techniques and their limit
 s), environmental and occupational exposure, toxicology and eco-toxico
 logy, risk and life cycle assessment, concluding with discussions on i
 ndustrial interests and ethical aspects.\n\nInternational experts in v
 arious nano-fields, from EU and USA, will hold the lessons, which will
  be followed by 15-30 minutes discussions. One afternoon will be dedic
 ated to the tutorials, with brainstorming sessions and parallel journa
 l clubs.\n\nThe registration to the school includes the school partici
 pation, the course materials and attendance certificate, lunches and c
 offee-breaks and two social events (Venice guided tour and concert in
