Event Description

Key technologies such as nanotechnologies, microsystems technology and photonics, as well as new materials are driving innovation in all industries and markets. However, the transfer of research results into marketable products that can be mass-produced poses great challenges for small and medium-sized companies as well as start-ups.

Therefore, successful pilot production, starting from the laboratory scale and prototyping to small batch production, is an important factor for the success of the innovation potential and management of every manufacturing company. Only the rapid overcoming of problems and mistakes in the production by "learning by doing", as possible during pilot series
production, leads to a successful series run and is crucially important for the time of introduction, the market acceptance and the economic success of an innovative product. At the same time, the regional availability of a corresponding pilot production line is of great relevance in order to successfully bring the pilot series to success.

To this end, the regional availability of the needed pilot production line is also of great relevance in order to make the pilot series a quick success. Particularly in this regard, it is of utter importance for the North Rhine-Westphalian (NRW) economy not only to be aware of internal but also of the broad field of external pilot production lines and their possibilities - in NRW itself, but also in nearby Europe - and thus exploit the success factor of pilot production.

The NMWP-Themenabend "Pilot production lines for an innovative KET-based industry" is part of a two-day event from 21 to 22 May 2019. Organized by the Cluster NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonics.NRW (NMWP.NRW) (German: NanoMikroWerkstoffePhotonik.NRW), Coatema and EPPN, the event gives NRW's economy and science insight into the wide range of support offers of pilot plants and aims at inspiring the realization of future innovations successfully using pilot lines by giving best practice examples.

On May 21, the event starts at 12 noon with the EPPN workshop. The aim of the "European Network for Pilot Production Projects and Innovation Hubs" workshop is to enable the networking of European pilot lines with each other in order to increase their profitability. In the run-up to the topic evening starting at 5 pm, laboratory tours visiting the "Technikum" (R&D centre) of Coatema will be offered starting from 4 pm. Following the topic evening, a networking event offers the opportunity to deepen the topic of pilot production with representatives from politics, business and science. On the second day, interested companies have the possibility to gain a full day of insights into Coatema's Technikum: The pilot plants will be showcased through successful innovation projects that have used the pilot plants themselves. Here you can find more information about the Coatema pilot lines plant "Technikum".

Welcome - about us

Welcome! Nanopaprika was cooked up by Hungarian chemistry PhD student in 2007. The main idea was to create something more personal than the other nano networks already on the Internet. Community is open to everyone from post-doctorial researchers and professors to students everywhere.

There is only one important assumption: you have to be interested in nano!

Nanopaprika is always looking for new partners, if you have any idea, contact me at editor@nanopaprika.eu
