DESCRIPTION:Announcement\nContent of the course \nThis course gives a
  broad overview on properties and fabrication processes of nano-materi
 als. Especially mechanical, optical, magnetic, and electric properties
  are taught. Phases, phase transformations, and related phenomena as f
 unction of the particle size are discussed in detail. This is always d
 one in view of technical applications. Therefore, examples, such as na
 nofluids, superparamagnetic cooling, self-cleaning surfaces, or nanomo
 tors, introducing to the wide field of nanotechnology are presented. A
 dditionally, the criteria for economic successful technical applicatio
 ns will be explained. Each participant has the chance to ask questions

 ed to employees of small and medium-sized companies, intending to impr
 ove their products by the application of nanomaterials or are determin
