SUMMARY:Intensive Course Nanomaterials
DESCRIPTION:This course gives a broad overview on proper-ties and fabr
 ication processes of nano-materials. Especially mechanical, optical, m
 agnetic, and electric properties are taught. Phases, phase transformat
 ions, and related ühenomena as function of the particle size are disc
 ussed in detail. This is always done in view of technical applications
 . Therefore, ex-amples, such as nanofluids, superparamagnet-ic cooling
 , self-cleaning surfaces, or nanomo-tors, introducing to the wide fiel
 d of nano-technology are presented. Additionally, the criteria for eco
 nomic successful technical applications will be explained. Each partic
 ipant has the chance to ask questions important to his company.\nWho s
 hould attend?\nThis course is directed to employees of small and mediu
 m sized companies, intending to im-prove their products by the applica
 tion of nanomaterials or are determined to develop new ones based on n
 anomaterials. The second group to attend the course are new co-workers
  of companies, universities or research institutes who want to shorten
